WRAG Radio Raggedy -- For Old Times Sake

It's been a long and eventful summer. The days all appeared to be in a hurry. They just had time enough to stop by for a quick "Hello!" And gone they were ...
The only thing that stayed and liked to linger was the music from back in the day. So, here is a new playlist of songs that belong to a time where time seemed to pass a little slower than it does nowadays.

Tracks

For Your Precious Love -- Elgins
A Song For You -- Temptations (Louis lead)
You Forgot To Remember Me -- G.C. Cameron
He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother -- Donny Hathaway
For Old Times Sake -- Dorothy Moore
Perfect Lover -- Double Exposure
Ocean of Thoughts and Dreams -- Dramatics
Got To Make A Comeback -- Eddie Floyd
Sweet Fools -- Essence
Let Somebody Love Me -- David Ruffin
Walls That Separate Our Love -- John Edwards
Until You Came Into My Life -- Ann Peebles

Enjoy!

Ali Ollie Woodson

I was left speechless when I heard this recording by Ali Ollie. At first, I didn't quite believe it was really Ali singing, but when I heard his high notes, I knew it was him. Amazing how his voice aged to perfection.

The Coldest Days --- The Chi Lites

It took me almost two months to come up with a song that would even come close to my feelings when I lost another sister.

She was our special sister; the oldest one of four; the strongest one, too. She was deaf and never able to hear a beautiful guitar or a voice that reaches into the deepest recess of the soul.

Nevertheless, she was able to see the joy and infatuation music can bring, watching us, her sisters. She used to call us crazy when we danced and sang along to our favorite songs ... We made her laugh.

She would put her hand on the radio to feel the vibrations -- and she felt them. So, I guess that is what could be called the true sound of silence.

She left us on April 9th, 2017. And yes there were all the signs of springtime around when she died: birds sang. But the sun was fighting with the winter cold that was still winning the battle.

When I stood at her grave site, it was snowing. The cream colored flowers were frozen. But nothing felt as icy as the stinging pain inside of me.

So, here are the candles for my special sister, Ute.

Howlin' Wolf - Evil (Is Going On)

It's been a gorgeous day in San Antonio.

Funny. Each time I sit outside on my patio, I think of my blog. Must be the birdssong and the sound of nature that makes me want to share some beatiful music with anyone who cares to listen.

My last post was for x-mas, and since then life has been kind of not so kind. I won't bother you all with the details, but some things take the music right out of one's life.

Nevertheless, the music returns at some point; life gets back to normal and the aches and pains of living will be integrated in one's days as nothing more than a nuisance.

Do I sound like having experienced a period of the blues? Defintely!

So, when I listened to some Howling Wolf today, I thought I should post some of his music. And here it is.
