The Chi Lites -- "Go Away Dream"

"Go Away Dream" was first released in 1973 on the album ChiLites for the Brunswick label. 

There are some Lovers Rock covers by The Tamlins and Delroy Wilson which didn't even come close to the original. 

I do like the Jesse Green version, however. 

 

 

Donny Hathaway -- "For All We Know"

Donny Hathaway's voice, as smooth, soft, and silky it may be, has the tendency to pull me down. There's that heavy dose of melancholy in his singing that seems to be contagious. Nevertheless -- or just because of these qualities -- I love his singing.

Darrell Banks -- "When A Man Loves A Woman"

This is a repost from a heart-wrenching take on the love song per se. I do no longer post dl links because I was pestered by Copyright watchdogs, so I stay on the safe side and use the tube to share my discoveries with you. 

 

Darrell Eubanks was born in Mansfield, Ohio on July 25, 1937. He released several singles and an album between 1966 and 1969. He died in Detroit, Michigan on February 24, 1970.

Ali Ollie Woodson -- "No Tears In Your Eyes

 Ali Ollie Woodson was a fantastic singer with tons of charisma -- the epitome of a true Temptations singer, in my opinion. I must admit, though, that I have not heard this beautiful tune before. What a rare gem!
