I just found John Edwards' version of one of my favorite Wilson Picket songs. I love both, though Wilson, in my opinion, added a little more "urgency" to the song -- which is his undisputed trade mark.
John Edwards' take on the Bobby and Linda Womack composition is from his 1973 album "John Edwards" (Aware). Wilson released it in 1968 (Atlantic) on his album "Midnight Mover," which according to Allmusic was "a monster of an album."
