I know, it is standard procedure to look back and reminisce, evaluate, analyze, appreciate or criticize the host of highlights the past year has bestowed on us. I don't think replaying the past is a good way to say good-bye. Looking back doesn't change anything, and if there was a lesson to be learned by experiencing a certain event, the effect will have happened in the immediate aftermath -- not "later that year," in my opinion. I'll leave the reviews and revisions to the historians.
So, let's get started with the new and leave the old behind.
