White Family Band -- "Miss America Stand Up"

Well, what can I say? Here I am back with a 1972 song. I do not only like this song, but I also found a recording by the co-writer of the title, R. Evans, that is pretty nice.

D. (Deadric) Malone, btw. wrote lots of songs for the great Bobby Bland.

And here's Robert Evans & Universal Love.  I do like the "Latin" touch.

Hello Inge,

Crooked label boss Don Robey concocted the pseudonym Deadric Malone (based on a combination of his own middle name and his wife’s maiden name— often abbreviated in credits as D. Malone) to cash in on the lucrative royalty payments: taking advantage of artists by buying and publishing their songs without acknowledging their role as the actual creators.
Lavelle White ,for instance, sold her authorship of 'Lead Me On' to Don Robey for fifty dollars!

Later,

Marc! It’s been a very long time since we last talked. It’s good to hear from you, and I hope you are doing well.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, it is yet another sad story about an industry that bestows on us all the joy music can bring, while often being cruel and crooked behind the scenes.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your info.
